AEO

In 2007, European legislation regarding the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status was introduced. With the introduction of the new Customs Code (UCC) in 2016, the AEO status was changed to a permit. An AEO permit offers all kinds of advantages in international trade.

Different types of AEO permits:

  • AEO Customs Simplifications (AEO-C)
  • AEO Security (AEO-S)
  • AEO Full (AEO-C & AEO-S)

To qualify for AEO status, the company must meet a number of requirements. Each AEO permit has its own requirements.

Guidence with the AEO processes:

  • implementing and drawing up the AEO risk matrix
  • the development and implementation of an AEO management system (process descriptions, procedures, work instructions, etc.)
  • drawing up and implementing a control framework based on the AEO requirements
  • training and education of employees (including awareness training)
  • conducting and reporting internal audits
